Two middle aged men have died after consuming illicit brew in Kagongo and Gichiche area, in Othaya, Nyeri County. According to residents, there has been an increase in the consumption of illicit brew in the areas, and they are now asking the area chiefs and their assistants to take action in curbing the sales of the illicit brew.

Alcoholism and drug abuse has been a major issue in many parts of the Central region, and it can be termed as a leading cause of mental health challenges among youths in the region.
